TALLAHASSEE — Senate Majority Leader Bill Galvano, who is in line to become Senate president in 2018, has a net worth of just over $2 million, according to paperwork posted Thursday on the state Commission on Ethics website.

The report, disclosing Galvano's finances as of June 30, indicates the Bradenton Republican's net worth grew more than $156,000 since April 30, 2014. His 2014 financial report was pegged to that date.

The new report, in part, shows the value of Galvano's home growing from $834,750 to $901,530 year to year.

While he is one of 19 millionaires in the Senate, Galvano's net worth places him below the average net worth of the members whose reports have been posted, which is just below $4 million.

The reports from three of the 40 senators have yet to be posted.

Galvano — an attorney whose district includes northern Charlotte County, DeSoto County, Glades County, Hardee County, southern Hillsborough County, and eastern Manatee County — was one of the final state lawmakers to submit the annual disclosure forms this year.

The reports were due July 1, though lawmakers can take until Sept. 1 to file without facing fines.

Galvano's net worth has grown more than $500,000 since the former House member was elected to the Senate in 2012.
