VIDEO: Florida Newsmaker Allison Tant

Ron Sachs of Sachs Media Group  is providing a series of interviews with newsmakers in Tallahassee in a partnership with the Florida Press Association.

In this week's videotaped interview, Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Allison Tant sits down with Sachs for her first television interview.

With two recent polls (Quinnipiac and PPP)  showing Gov. Rick Scott trailing such potential candidates as former Gov. Charlie Crist and former Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink and only slightly ahead of declared candidate Nan Rich, Tant says she's expecting a solid victory in 2014: "Rick Scott is vulnerable, he is beatable and we intend to beat him."  Though Tant was criticized by some for her political response to the resignation of Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll, she says she stands by her words. "Of course it was appropriate. Rick Scott made, as his first decision as the executive of the state, a bad decision and he continues to make bad decisions. You have to judge an executive by the decisions they make," she tells Sachs. Tant addresses all that and more on "Florida NewsMakers."
